Robert Guillaume stars as Benson DuBois, in this spinoff of the tv series Soap. Benson is head of the household at the Governor’s mansion and uses his sharp wit and quick thinking to help the Governor on several issues, bailing him out of some tight spots. With aspirations of his own, Benson works his way up the ladder to run for office and earn his own political career. In 1985, Robert Guillaume won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on Benson.
